Eric and I did not come to Uganda with big plans. We just came to fill small needs that were here. As soon as we landed in Uganda the problem of poverty was apparent. We knew that poverty was everywhere, but it took knowing some of our friends here go days without food to completely realize it.
Once we realized that people we saw and talked to everyday were going to bed hungry, we decided to do something about it. We have started a feeding program every Saturday for anyone in the community who wants to come. Children who go to school get lunch on school days, but many times that is the only meal they get. We are trying to do our part to give these people a nutritious meal, but we need your help in order to reach more people and provide more meals each week. This is a program that Eric and I would like to be able to finance, even after we leave. We currently spend about $50 to feed 70 people every Saturday.
